invest in play® Teacher Programme

Teachers and Educators
Those who educate and care for children ages 2-12 have an awesome yet challenging task. Educators are the people that children spend the most time with, outside of their immediate families. They are expected to be responsible for student’s academic, social and emotional development as well as their physical health and safety.
Almost all teachers and educators enter the profession because they want to make a difference in children’s lives; and they do that in multiple ways every day. It is also true that it is often exhausting to try to meet all these needs, especially in under-resourced schools, with students who come to school with many needs.
Our aim is to create environments where children can truly flourish. The invest in play Teacher Programme® supports teachers to use evidence-based strategies that increase children’s social and emotional competence and teacher well-being. The programme has a dual focus: both strengthening the social fabric of the classroom community and understanding and responding to the needs of individual children, following the Six Bricks for Kids model.

Facilitators are trained to deliver the programme in six 3-hour sessions to groups of teachers. Teachers implement the strategies in their daily practice between sessions. Sessions are collaborative and structured to fit different learning styles and include group dialogue, interactive teaching, practices, brainstorms and demonstration videos showing strategies used with children in different age groups.
